In the centre of the cold, empty church, the priest stood waiting. The Groom was beside him, stiff and emotionless, with his green eyes fixed forward. Silent guards lined the walls, blocking every exit. They were here to make sure the bride didn't try to run again because she had. Twice already. But she had been caught and brought back every time.ย

And now, she had no choice but to walk down the aisle.

Her dress was beautiful, a gown of pure white lace that stretched across the floor, yet it was far too heavy for her. In her trembling hands, she clutched a bouquet of white roses, fresh but cold, their thorns pricking her palms. It was the only softness she had, though even it felt like a mockery, a reminder of everything she had lost.

A transparent white veil covered her face, falling far past her gown, and touching the floor. Embroidered at the very end of the veil were the cold words, "Just a terrible purchase."

As she walked down the stairs, the fabric caught on the steps, nearly pulling her off balance. She stumbled, and her cheeks flushed with shame, but there was no one there to help. No one cared about her struggle. Her hands shook as she tightened her grip on the bouquet, the thorns digging in, giving her tears one more reason to flow out.

The gown was far too heavy for a small person like her, and it dragged behind her, making each step feel like a struggle. Her face, hidden by the veil, was covered with fresh tears. She looked anything but a happy bride her eyes swollen, cheeks flushed, hands shaking. She knew she had no say, no escape, and worst of all, that her husband hadn't even cared to glance her way. To him, she was just a transaction. A purchase. A terrible one.

When she reached the aisle, she took a deep breath, feeling a sudden urge to run. She knew it was pointless, but the instinct was there, desperate and wild. But with the guards watching her every move, escape was just a fantasy now.

As she moved forward, a light wind stirred through the church, lifting her veil for a brief moment. It was as if fate itself wanted to show her face, a face full of sorrow and fear, a face that looked utterly lost. It felt like some strange blessing from above, a brief moment of mercy. But just as quickly as the veil lifted, it settled back down, hiding her once again.

Finally, she reached the altar and dared to look up at her groom. There was a fragile glimmer of hope in her eyes, a last wish that maybe, just maybe, he would show her an ounce of humanity. That he would see her as something more than his bought bride. But his green eyes never met hers. He only looked toward the priest, waiting impatiently for this transaction to be over. She didn't even know his name.

The priest began the rituals, his voice dull and mechanical. There were no vows, no promises of love or care. When it was time, The groom took her hand, slipping a ring onto her finger with all the care of a man completing a business deal. He didn't lift her veil, didn't look into her eyes, didn't show even a flicker of recognition. She was simply a task to be completed, a purchase to be done.

There was no kiss, no affection, nothing but the icy chill of his touch. And just like that, it was over. Her fate was sealed.

As the ceremony ended, the Bride looked down, her hands bleeding because of how tightly she grabbed the roses. The thorns of Roses stuck on her hands. But, she didn't care. As the weight of her shattered hopes pressed down on her. Any dreams she once had of love or freedom had died here, in this dark, silent church. She belonged to him now, bound to a man who saw her as nothing more than a tool, a piece in his game.

This was the start of her new life and the end of everything she had ever wanted and hoped for.

โœง

โœจAll he wanted was to break her, shatter her world into pieces, and rebuild it in his way, piece by piece. He didn't care if her edges resisted; he'd force them to fit, even if it meant reshaping her entirely.โœจ

โœจShe could feel herself breaking with every step. The destruction was inevitable, yet it was the way she was sinking into it that terrified her the most.โœจ

He will make sure to make her realise who she belongs to.๐Ÿฅ€โœจ
